About Our Location

Our office is located in the heart of Bristol's creative quarter, just a short walk from Temple Meads station. The building is easily accessible by public transport, with regular bus services stopping nearby.

We have a welcoming consultation space where we meet with individuals exploring hobby options. Many of our workshops also take place in our well-equipped studio rooms on the ground floor.

Street parking is available on surrounding roads, though we encourage using public transport when possible. There's a secure bicycle parking area at the rear of the building.

Finding Us

By Train

From Bristol Temple Meads station, it's a pleasant fifteen-minute walk through Totterdown. Exit the station onto Temple Gate, turn left onto Bath Road, then right onto Wells Road. Continue until you reach Meadowbrook Lane on your left. Alternatively, take bus number 36 or 37 from the station, which stops directly outside our building.

By Bus

Several bus routes serve the area including the 36, 37, and 52. The nearest stop is Meadowbrook Lane, which is right outside our office. You can plan your journey using the First Bus app or the Traveline website.

By Car

From the M32, take the exit for the A4174 and follow signs towards Knowle. Turn onto Wells Road and continue for approximately two miles. Meadowbrook Lane is a left turn just past the library. On-street parking is available, though spaces can be limited during weekday daytime hours. The nearest car park is on Victoria Park, about five minutes' walk away.

By Bicycle

Bristol has an extensive network of cycle paths. The nearest route is the Wells Road cycleway, which connects to the city centre and surrounding areas. Secure bicycle storage is available at the rear of our building. Access the bicycle parking through the alley beside the main entrance.

About persistent-guide

We are a Bristol-based social enterprise dedicated to helping people discover and develop meaningful hobbies. Since our founding in 2014, we've supported more than three thousand individuals in finding activities that bring joy, reduce stress, and create lasting fulfillment.

Our approach combines expertise in adult education, behavioral psychology, and deep knowledge of hobby disciplines. We work with individuals at every stage, from complete beginners who've never had a hobby to experienced enthusiasts looking to try something new.

What makes us different is our focus on long-term success rather than initial enthusiasm. We provide ongoing support, community connections, and realistic guidance to help people move past the challenges that typically cause hobby abandonment.

Our team includes consultation specialists, workshop coordinators, and community managers who are all passionate hobbyists themselves. We understand the journey because we've lived it.

What to Expect

Quick Response

We aim to respond to all emails within one business day, usually much sooner. If you're contacting us outside office hours, you'll hear from us first thing the following morning.

Initial Conversation

Our first reply will typically ask a few questions to better understand what you're looking for. This helps us provide relevant information and suggest appropriate services for your situation.

Flexible Scheduling

We offer consultations and workshops throughout the week, including some evening and weekend slots. We'll work with you to find a time that suits your schedule.

Before You Contact Us

Simply tell us a bit about yourself and what you're hoping to achieve. There's no need to write a lengthy message. Even a few sentences like "I'm interested in finding a new hobby but not sure where to start" gives us enough to begin a conversation.

No, workshops are open to everyone without requiring a consultation first. However, if you're uncertain which workshops would suit you best, a consultation can help narrow down the options.

While we're usually in the office during business hours, team members are often in consultations or workshops. It's best to email in advance to arrange a specific time to meet. This ensures someone will be available to give you their full attention.

For consultations, we can usually accommodate bookings within a week. Popular workshop times, particularly weekend sessions, often book up two to three weeks in advance. We recommend getting in touch as soon as you know you're interested.

Yes, many of our consultations can be conducted via video call if you prefer or if visiting our office isn't convenient. We've found that online consultations work just as well as in-person meetings for the discovery process.

Our building has step-free access and an accessible toilet. Please let us know about any specific requirements when you contact us, and we'll ensure we can accommodate you comfortably. This applies to both consultations and workshops.

Absolutely. Some people like to bring a partner or friend for support or perspective. Just mention this when you book so we can arrange appropriate seating and allow sufficient time.

Yes, while we're based in Bristol, we work with individuals throughout the UK. Consultations can be conducted online, and we can recommend workshops, instructors, and communities in your local area. About a third of our clients are based outside Bristol.
